iShares' IEEE nears $700 million banners strong recovery year of EM ETF flows.
BlackRock's flagship UCITS exchange-traded fund (ETF) for emerging market equities exposure has reported net assets nearly 3.5 times greater than the fund held just six months ago, according to filings.
The bump comes after the investment giant, and many of its peers, had reset its fund strategy in recent years with respect to EM - including quietly winding some down. While results have proven fairly strong for IEEE, the ballooning assets are likely drawn from inflows rather than turning over performance, as investors (including institutions) continue to open their minds to an active ETF product for EM exposure.
